You've probably seen all the activity surrounding our opposition to HB1060, the bill now introduced in the Colorado legislature that would give dietitians a monopoly on nutrition services and censorship over nutrition information.  What is interesting is how many Registered Dietitians agree with us that the bill is a terrible overreach by their trade association, the American Dietetic Association. 

 

So, we would like to take a moment to reassure our friends, customers, coworkers and Nutritional Health Coaches who are, in fact, Registered Dieticians that they are OK with us.  Our beef is with their political folks in Washington, DC, who think their power grab and the underhanded wording of...

37,000 Natural Grocers customer signatures submitted to FDA opposing NDIN


Our two week campaign, ending after Thanksgiving 2011, generated over 37,000 petition signatures and thousands of signed letters opposing the New Dietary Ingredient Notification (NDIN) guidelines issued by the FDA. The letters and petitions have been submitted as official public comments to the electronic docket at the FDA.  Paper copies of the petitions and letters are now being delivered to each office holder throughout our 50 store areas in 8 states.

GMO Manifesto Exposed: Boulder County FAPC endorses transition away from GMO on...


 

 

The Boulder County Food and Agriculture Policy Council (BCFAPC) last night recommended on a vote of 5-4 to the County Commissions that the County include in the Public Open Space Cropland Policy a mandate to create a plan to convert 2,200 acres of rotational GMO corn to non-GMO uses, while maintaining the economic viability for tenant farmers. 

 

The recommendation will be considered by the County Commissioners tonight and on December 8th 2011before the cropland policy is finalized.
