This product is so excellent. It has so many healthy amino acids in it. The product tastes just like soy sauce. I use it in all my asian cooking. Nobody knows the difference.

I've been eating vegetarian/healthy for 25 years now. I remember this product from back in the day. It's still great! It's a kind of soy sauce that is great for you. No added sodium or alchohol. The only ingredients are soybeans!

This product tastes like soy sauce. I use it in stir fry and for added flavor in soups and sauces. It adds a salty flavor to my soups so that I don't have to add any additional salt. Highly recommend this product.

This is better than Soy Sauce. I have taken to substituting this in all of my soups, marinades and cooking. For anyone with high blood pressure this is the way to go, there's no added salt, but it gives you all the flavor of a regular Soy Sauce!

This adds a meaty, rich flavor to vegetarian/vegan dishes. I like it very much on beans, rice, and lentils...also as a marinade for mushrooms, onions, and other veggies. I don't know how it's made, but the ingredient list is simple enough. It has a salty taste, so a little goes a long way.

Some people are sensitive to free glutamate such as MSG. While Bragg's (and products such as soy sauce, soup stock, etc) might not contain added MSG from outside sources, people sensitive to MSG should take caution to avoid large quantities of other free glutamate. MSG seems completely harmless to most people, but a few will have a temporary reaction to it, especially if taken in sufficient quantities and without food. If you are sensitive and you don't like this reaction, just don't eat too much free glutamate with too little food. Likewise, there may be no added sodium, but there's plenty of "naturally" occurring sodium in this product. (Remember, "natural" is not the same as "healthy." Cyanide is "naturally" occurring in apple seeds, but don't ingest huge amounts of apple seeds, because "natural" cyanide from "natural" apples is still cyanide.) According to the manufacturer's site, http://bragg.com/products/la.html , at the time of writing, each 1/2 tsp contains 160 mg of sodium (or 320 mg per tsp, or 960 mg per tbsp). This is comparable to standard soy sauce brands, although the exact amount of sodium will vary from brand to brand, of course. If you want a product that has about half the sodium content, choose a low sodium soy sauce. As for protein, there's 0.31 g in each 1/2 tsp serving. If you, for some reason, want to increase your intake of certain amino acids, eat foods that contain them, and in significant quantities. 0.31 g is not significant protein. Tamari soy sauce has about 0.315 g protein, so this product is similar. If you want soy protein, 4 oz of tvp (about 60 g protein), tempeh (20 - 21 g protein), or tofu (9 - 11 g protein) has plenty. Disclaimer: those numbers are not exact and this is from a quick online search, not necessarily accurate. In summary, this product is not significantly different from plain old soy sauce in terms of glutamate, salt, or amino acids. Both taste good, and quite similar, to me. Basically, it's no better than average soy sauce from what I see.
