Makes wonderful veggie burgers, but you can't rush the cooking process. You must actually boil the water, use plenty of water (kind of like oatmeal, it will absorb a good deal of water), and give it time to set up before frying or else they get too dry.
They're great with sauteed mushrooms and swiss cheese on top.

We take this on 21 day canoe trips and are unable to find it now in Canada. Served with instant mashed potatoes, it is our favourite meal, after pickeral. I add extra garlic and black pepper to the mixture before we leave. I will add dried shatakes this year after reading above reviews.
I hope we can get it in Canada again.
