Q: What is the purpose of illustrating the ‘Health-Energy Continuum’?

It is our intention to educate and empower our customers to be well. Using a visual such as the  ’Health-Energy Continuum’ is a way to illustrate and potentially inspire our customers to choose a  lifestyle that leads toward optimal health! For some, this might be the first time to consider that  optimal health is within their reach. While for others, this might reinforce healthy lifestyle and food  choices that they are already making, and encourage them to continue along that path.


Q: If I have many signs of poor health, where do I begin?

It’s as simple as beginning exactly where you are. For instance, maybe you know you don’t eat  consistently or you don’t make healthy food choices. Learning how to build a balanced and healthy  meal (see handout Building YOUR Ideal Meal & Ideas for Food Quantity) following foundational nutrition principles rather than rules would be a great place to begin!


Q: How long will it take me to learn how to ‘Build’, ‘Budget’ and ‘Adapt’ so that I can achieve  optimal health?

Ultimately, this is a lifetime process and one that can be a lot of fun as you continue to explore and learn what it is that your body needs. As you focus on achieving optimal health, you will find that this  process is an experiential one. In other words, you will get to see what does and doesn’t work  for you first hand. Not sure if you should be eating wheat or gluten? Experiment, and see what  happens when you remove gluten from your diet. Do you notice more balanced moods and  emotions? Perhaps your joints stop aching. Keep learning as you go...


Q: You list ‘Supplement to support optimal health’ in the Adapt stage. If I’m eating well, why would I need to supplement?

Supplements are not a substitute for a healthy diet, but they are certainly your partner in achieving optimal health. Even if you feel like you eat well, there are many factors (some you can control, and  many you can not) that can literally drain nutrients from the body. If you are new to supplementing, begin by building a solid foundation of supplements (see box to the right). From there, you can  adapt to fit your individual needs.
