Makes great-tasting bread!

Hard red wheat berries add the flavor to wheat bread that you're used to, but in a fresher and more wholesome way. When I grind wheat berries and other whole grains for making bread, I add about 1/4 red wheat berries, 1/2 hard white wheat berries, and 1/4 other mixed grains, such as millet, amaranth, and oat groats. The red wheat gives an excellent flavor and color to the loaf. I make bread at least twice a week, and I almost always add some hard red wheat to the recipe. Natural Grocers has my endorsement - their grain products are clean, well-packaged, and ready to grind. I've ordered several times now, and I've never been disappointed.

Great for sandwich loaves

I have been using these berries consistently for a year in my 100% whole wheat sandwich loaves. I get very nice rise and good oven spring. They are always nicely cleaned for grinding. Great product at a great price.
