My daughter is allergic to both dairy and soy. This is a great alternative to both butter and soy based Crisco shortening. I use it all of the time to make cookies and they always come out great! An added bonus is that this is a much healthier alternative to butter, margarine or hydrogenated shortenings.

My son has nut and soy allergies and I searched high and low to find a shortening that we could use -- this is it! So far, everything has turned out great. It is softer than shortenings like Crisco, but that doesn't seem to affect the performance.

I use this to make biscuits. They turn out great. It is also good to lightly coat potatoes, sweet or white variety before baking. When the potatoes are done, the skin taste so crunchy while the inside of the potatoes stays real flaky. Try this, you won't be disappointed.
