Dr. Joy Stevens

Dr. Stevens is a naturopathic physician who enjoys working with Lyme patients and helping to restore them to health. Having contracted Lyme herself, she eventually fell seriously ill and was misdiagnosed with MS. The wrong diagnosis followed by an inappropriate treatment only made things worse. She eventually was forced to quit work in order to heal. Partially recovered, she decided to attend medical school but was unknowingly sick with reactivated Epstein Bar Virus (EBV) the entire time. As a result of these experiences, Dr. Stevens is one of the few physicians who really understands tick-borne illnesses and all that comes along with them. As one of her colleagues once said, "You have to get it in order to get it." Dr. Stevens enrolled in medical school with the primary goal of helping those with chronic tick-borne infections. She preceptored with some of Seattle's finest Lyme literate physicians including Dr. Amy Derksen, Dr. Traci Taggert, and at Dr. Klinghardt's Sophia Health Institute. She also took many additional courses including all of Dr. Ben Lynch's courses on methylation and genetics, advanced toxicology and environmental medicine courses with Dr. John Hibbs and Dr. Walter Crinnion respectfully, Lyme Ed with Dr. Nicola Duchareme, and a mold course with Dr. Jill Crista. Dr. Stevens prefers a natural approach to treating Lyme, starting with the foundations of health and using all the modalities available to naturopathic physicians such as herbs and supplements and even antibiotics when appropriate. Dr. Stevens received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University in Seattle. She also holds a law degree from the University of Wyoming and an engineering degree from Montana State University. She is the owner of Everhope Clinic, PLLC in Billings, Montana.
