Jon Reese, Fire Chief

Fire Chief Jon Reese began his career with the Wichita Falls Fire Department in May of 1984 as a probationary firefighter, and graduated from the 35th Fire Academy in August of 1984. In 1994 Jon was promoted to the rank of Fire Equipment Operator, and served as a Command Staff Aide on Battalion 1 until his promotion in 2005 to Fire Lieutenant. He served in this position until 2009 when he was promoted to Fire Captain and served as a Training and Safety Coordinator for the department. In 2012, Jon was appointed to the position of Assistant Fire Chief where he served until being appointed as Interim Fire Chief on March 29th with the retirement of Fire Chief Earl Foster. He was then appointed to Fire Chief on June 17, 2014. He proudly calls Wichita Falls home, and has been married to his wife Pam for 29 years. They have three children, Christopher, Matthew, and Tyler, and one spoiled granddaughter. Jon is joined by Bill Weske, the Retire Assistant Fire Chief, and both are members of the Elks Lodge here in Wichita Falls and make cooking their hobby. He and Bill are also the resident "Chefs" at the Flying "M" Ranch in Archer City, catering to guest hunters and working cowboys.
