Heart disease is not plaque deposits. The real heart disease is underneath the plaque deposits - damaged artery walls weakened to the point where there is a danger of breakthrough bleeding. Plaque deposits are not pathological. They are adaptive because they are "nature's perfect band-aid" to shore up the weakened artery walls and prevent breakthrough bleeding.
