Malu Teixeira earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Biology from New Mexico State University in 2021. She began her career working as a laboratory technician in a disease and vector control research laboratory and continued her career in an analytical chemistry laboratory at a winery in Napa Valley. It was during this time that she developed a strong interest in nutrition and began expanding her knowledge through nutrition literature and coursework. After a period of teaching at the middle school level in California, she returned to Las Cruces to focus on family and pursue her passion for nutrition as a Nutritional Health Coach. Malu is dedicated to helping others build a healthier relationship with food through education and practical, sustainable habits. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, music, video games, and spending time with family and friends.
