The plan allows you to set aside pre-tax money from your paycheck to pay for medical and/or child day care expenses (up to $2500/yr for medical and up to $5000/yr for child care). The plan saves you the expense of being taxed for these expenses which equals saved tax dollars.

At the time of your eligibility, you will receive a FREE $25,000 Life insurance policy. This includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage.
At the time of your eligibility, you will receive FREE Short term disability coverage.
At the time of your eligibility, you can elect a term Life insurance policy for yourself, your spouse and/or your dependent children. This coverage includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
At the time of your eligibility, you can elect one of our long term disability coverage options.
There is a discretionary employer match.
You’ll be paid $1/hour up to 40hr/week in the form of “Vitamin Bucks” – that’s $40 extra a week if you’re working 40hr/week! The bucks are added to your Employee Discount Card (Vitamin Bucks Card) each pay period. You can use the bucks as store credit and apply it to your purchases however you choose.
You’ll receive an Employee Discount Card (Vitamin Bucks Card) with your first paycheck which you can show to the cashier to receive discounts on all of your purchases at any store location:
Happy Birthday to you! We like to celebrate birthdays at Natural Grocers. The tradition goes back to our founder, Margaret Isely. We’ll pay you bonus pay on your birthday!
If you’re Full-time or salaried, you’ll receive birthday bonus pay equivalent to an 8-hr work day.
If you’re Part-time, you’ll receive birthday bonus pay equivalent to a 4-hr work day.
At the end of each quarter, the profitability of the company and each store is assessed. If your store and the company achieve their minimum quarterly profitability goal, you are eligible to receive an incentive compensation payment.
You’ll earn personal time that is accrued based on your length of employment:
1st year – 10 days (80 hrs) if working 40hr/week
2nd, 3rd, 4th years – 15 days (120 hrs) if working 40hr/week
5th year and beyond – 20 days (160 hrs) if working 40hr/week
You’ll receive holiday pay equivalent to an 8-hr work day for the following holidays:

Part of the company’s mission is to educate our employees in nutrition so they can educate our customers. The following outlines the great opportunities available to you to further your nutrition education not just for your position, but for you personally as well.
We publish and distribute a free customer newsletter called the “Health Hotline” which is sent to each store the week before it’s distributed. You’ll find up-to-date research and information on nutritional subjects in the articles.
Each store has a filing cabinet near the book section that contains free nutritional literature that we give out to customers. We also give out a variety of free magazines to our customers. You’re welcome to take copies of the customer literature information and the magazines to further your education.
There are many opportunities for advancement with Natural Grocers. We are constantly growing and opening new stores. When new positions are created or current positions become available we make sure that these positions are posted internally in all of our stores so that you have an opportunity to apply for those positions that are of interest to you.
Many of our store managers have started their careers at Natural Grocers as general store support employees and have worked their way up to managing their own store. The following outlines the structure of the positions in our stores:
