Hacking your morning coffee with butter and coconut oil will keep hunger at bay, reduce caffeine jitters, and provide sustained energy while intermittent fasting. Beyond intermittent fasting, there are many reasons to consider hacking your morning coffee, and butter and coconut oil are not the only options—collagen, MCT oil, and spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, and/or turmeric are all excellent additions.   1-2 tablespoons fat and/or oil , coconut oil, MCT oil, butter, or ghee
  2-4 tablespoons organic full-fat heavy cream or Natural Grocers Brand Organic Coconut Milk
  1-2 teaspoons Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Cocoa Powder

  1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

1. In a blender (or use a handheld frother), combine your choice of above ingredients, or follow one of the recipes below:

  • The Intermittent Fast: 8-10 ounces coffee, 1 tablespoon coconut oil or MCT oil, 1 tablespoon butter or ghee.
  • Coco-Collagen Mocha: 6-8 ounces coffee, 2 ounces coconut milk, 1-2 scoops collagen powder, 2 teaspoons cocoa powder, and sweetener of choice.
  • Golden Coffee: 4-6 ounces coffee, 4 ounces coconut milk (heated), 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon Gaia Golden Milk or Mega Food Daily Turmeric Powder, and sweetener of choice.
  • Cardamom Immune Support Coffee: 8-10 ounces coffee, ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom, 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon Stamets 7 Mushroom powder, 2 ounces heavy cream (or non-dairy alternative), and sweetener of choice.
