For the honey-ginger-turmeric syrup
1⁄2 cup Natural Grocers® Brand Raw and Unfiltered Clover Honey
1 cup filtered water
1 thumb-sized piece of organic ginger (not necessary to peel), roughly chopped
1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Ground Turmeric Root
Individual mocktails
2 tablespoons honey-ginger-turmeric syrup
2 tablespoons organic orange juice
1 tablespoon organic lime juice
1⁄2 cup sparkling mineral water or seltzer
Garnish with fresh organic mint leaves, orange slices or twists, or a sprig of rosemary if desired
  1. Mix the honey and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until honey is incorporated, creating a smooth syrup. Heat until it is steaming but not bubbling.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the chopped ginger; steep for 5 minutes. Whisk in the turmeric.
  3. Transfer the syrup to a blender, filling it to no more than halfway full (when blending hot liquid, remove the center piece from the blender lid, and place a folded dishtowel over the opening). Turn the blender on the lowest setting and work your way up to blend until smooth, using caution to avoid splashing. Blend at high speed for 30 seconds.
  4. Strain the syrup into a container using a fine mesh strainer. The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
  5. To create the mocktail, fill a glass with crushed ice and add the honey-ginger-turmeric syrup and citrus juices. Gently stir together and top with sparkling mineral water.
  6. To serve, garnish with organic mint leaves, orange slices, or a sprig of rosemary.
