Honey Ginger Turmeric Syrup

Honey Ginger Turmeric Syrup

This easy-to-make syrup is a delicious base for a mocktail, cocktail, hot tea, or used as a marinade for pork or chicken. Honey, ginger, and turmeric support immune health and a healthy inflammatory response—delicious and good4u!

Makes: ~1 1/4 Cups
1⁄2 cup Natural Grocers® Brand Raw and Unfiltered Clover Honey
1 cup filtered water
1 thumb-sized piece of organic ginger (not necessary to peel), roughly chopped
1 teaspoon Natural Grocers Brand Bulk Organic Ground Turmeric Root
  1. Mix the honey and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until honey is incorporated, creating a smooth syrup. Heat until it is steaming but not bubbling.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the chopped ginger; steep for 5 minutes. Whisk in the turmeric.
  3. Transfer the syrup to a blender, filling it to no more than halfway full (when blending hot liquid, remove the center piece from the blender lid, and place a folded dishtowel over the opening). Turn the blender on the lowest setting and work your way up to blend until smooth, using caution to avoid splashing. Blend at high speed for 30 seconds.
  4. Strain the syrup into a container using a fine mesh strainer. The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month and in the freezer for up to 6 months.
